Ecological and Cultural immersion
8 Day and 4 Day Immersions Available Below

Terra Brasilis Retreats will repeat its successful Rainforest Coastal nature immersion in a spectacular oceanfront location, inserted in the exuberant forest, overlooking the sea, mountains, and steps away from the sand. This ecological immersion’s theme will be “Healing in the Brazilian waters”.

It will take place in a small coastal village of Picinguaba (in Tupi-Guarani the indigenous language in Brazil, it means “fish shelter”) located in a tranquil bay at the heart of the tropical forest, in the only part of the “Sea Sierra” State Park that reaches the beach.

It is a magical and rare ecological sanctuary in the “Green Belt” a costal rainforest that extends from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo state, where five ecosystems are preserved; co-exist peacefully with the “caiçara” community (coastal habitants of a fishing village) tucked in lush nature, and unknown even to the Brazilian tourist.
This is a well-kept secret that Terra Brasilis will share with few of you. It is the perfect place to discover real Brazil, and to be immersed in its bountiful nature and local culture. We will limit the number of guests per event to ensure exclusive service and extraordinary experiences.

Picinguaba is a small village located inside Ubatuba. It is also an internationally recognized UNESCO heritage site. Amongst the many natural experiences that are to be had here, we can arrange cultural guided tours: Vila de Picinguaba, Paraty and Trilha de Ouro (Gold Trail). The “Paraty, Colonial Heritage” tour takes us to a city rich in culture, outfitted in XVII and XVIII century buildings, arts and crafts shops, as well as restaurants featuring local gastronomy.

Either stay very active and adventurous or on the opposite, enjoy the calm and relaxed atmosphere of the charming colonial style “inn” or “pousada” and its pool, view, sauna, or enjoy the beach, village and its surroundings. Or both! We offer a wide-range of activities a la carte. Indeed, some of these experiences are to be enjoyed in total freedom by our guests, whereas others are guided by locals and our bilingual team.
Surfboards, Boats, kayaks and stand-up paddles take us to picture perfect adventure in nearby secret beaches; walks through the forest teach us about the calls of birds that echo in the green and reveal landscapes and waterfalls. Native dwellers invite us to fish scallops and taste the entire potency of their flavor.

My experience with Terra Brasilis was truly transformative. I have been on retreats before, but never anything quite like this. The four days were spiritually enlightening and quite life changing. The event was executed with heart and was completely authentic. I definitely recommend it for anyone searching for clarity, guidance or more self awareness.

Terra Brasilis retreats is a truly unique retreat experience! Traversing trails in the depths of the Atlantic Rainforest, meeting local & indigenous communities focused on preserving the rainforest as well as the culture and histories of their ancestors, submerging myself into creek pools made by waterfalls, bathing in the sun on tiny, secluded islands accessible only by canoe, and surfing sweet little waves in the salty Atlantic waters all after mornings of meditation and yoga practice made my senses vibrate! This retreat woke me up, soothed my soul, made me feel alive! With forest colors so vibrant, daily native fruits to enjoy, and endless adventures through lush forests this retreat provided a visceral experience at every level. We ate not just healthy foods but gorgeously vibrant flower salads — “non-traditional edible plants” — that were grown and gathered fresh from the premises. Prepared by an incredibly sweet and caring chef and kitchen crew who also kept us nourished for the days adventures with tasty and delightful vegetarian menus. The kitchen crew and all staff are friendly and warm and have created a cozy family vibe that extends to guests. This retreat also has a strong spiritual component with opportunities for group practices facilitated by a gregarious and thoughtful spiritual guide, as well as ample opportunities for alone time and deep self-reflection amidst the most secluded, peaceful and gorgeous natural environment the earth has to offer. Terra Brasilis retreats provided me an opportunity to explore parts of the planet that are not otherwise easy to get to. I highly recommend this retreat for those seeking adventure, self-care, and a deeper understanding of the planet and what feeds her. Finally, come with an open mind: flexibility is a must as sometimes the schedule is determined by nature and not the people coordinating the retreat ;). Enjoy the adventure!
