Know Before You Go

The retreat is designed for all levels of practitioners.

Airport transfer: Transportation is included in the package is for pick-up and drop off at the Santarém Airport on the scheduled dates noted above. Any participant needing a different time for pick-up and/or drop-off may inform us and we will arrange taxi transportation on the participant’s expense.

Temperature/Climate: The climate in the Amazon region is always warm and wet, with the temperature ranging from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. During the months from January to July the rainy season offers the beautiful flooded areas, with daily rains mostly during the night and possible thunderstorms. From August to January, the dry season reveals the stunning river beaches, it gets a little hotter and the sunshines every day. During the nights the temperature drops and you will need a small blanket or sleeping bag to sleep in the hammock.

Passport/Visa: Visa requirements are dependent on your nationality and are a responsibility of the traveler. Please check your country’s requirements, applications for visas are at the Brazilian consulate or embassy. You must have a passport valid for six months after your arrival date to be permitted entry into Brazil.

Medical Information:
You are recommended to seek the consultation of a qualified medical practitioner and travel clinic for the latest information on health and vaccinations needed prior to your travel to Brazil, specifically the Amazon. The retreat center is fully equipped with first aid kit for minor acidentes. Alter do Chão, which is just 5 min from the retreat center has a very good health care base for injuries, ailments and animal accidents, and Santarém has hospitals in case of any serious problem.
